Burhill Golf Course sits in 1,500 acres of land near to Walton in Surrey and hosts 2 amazing golf courses as well as the magnificent Burhill mansion
Burhill mansion was originally built in 1726 as a private residence for Peter De La Porte, a wealthy London Thread Merchant. In 1861 it was completely destroyed by fire but was rebuilt the same year.
Today as well as golf, Burhill mansion is a great location for weddings and this is exactly where Katy & Adam decided to have their big day.
We seem to have been very lucky lately with the weather as once again when we arrived at Katy’s parents house the sun was shining and the temperature was rising. The girls were buzzing about with lots of excited chatter and laughing whilst the hair and makeup was taking place. After taking the normal bridal preparations shots we were hoping to take some of Katy with her parents in their garden, but the sun was so strong and without any shade that we shot the family pictures inside their sitting room. With all of this completed we headed off to the church to meet Adam and the lads for some shots of the groomsmen. Again, it was difficult due to the strength of the sun and we were using any available trees to try and reduce some of the brightness.
After a lovely service everyone made their way to Burhill Golf Club. Drinks were served outside the wonderful Burhill Mansion in the blazing sunshine followed by a magnificent wedding breakfast in the Grand Dining Room.
Following the wedding breakfast we were able to sneak off with Katy & Adam to get some wonderful portraits out on the Golf Course and to take advantage of the wonderful light as the sun was setting.
After the first dance and the party well under way we said goodbye to the happy couple.
We would like to thank Katy & Adam for asking us to photograph their wonderful day.
