The last day of July took us to St Peters Church in Old Woking for the wedding of Bernadette & Martin Whipp. Bernadette got ready at their home which is literally round the corner from the church. The church is a wonderful old place and dates back to the 7th century and was mentioned in the Doomsday Book! Following the service we all travelled about 13 miles to the reception at the wonderful Losley Park. The wedding breakfast was held in the Tythe Barn and very close to the main house. Following the meal and speeches we were able to take Bernadette & Martin off to take some photographs around the main house and also in the fantastic walled gardens. The house is fantastic but sadly we were unable to go into the house as they were filming a BBC documentary so instead we spent most of our time in the White Garden which was truly stunning.
Following the photographs we went back to the barn to cut the cake and the first dance. We would like to thank Bernadette & Martin for inviting us to record what was a truly memorable day.

The end of May saw us at the Regency Parks Hotel Thatcham in Berkshire for the wedding of Stacey & Geart Matoshi . This was our first visit to this modern hotel. The weather forecast was due to be pretty good with some sunshine and light clouds and for once the forecast was correct! Stacey got ready at the hotel along with her bridesmaids who were also her sisters. Geart mingled with the guests before the ceremony. With the girls nearly ready everyone made their way to the wedding room for the ceremony. The bridesmaids looked terrific in their lovely blue dresses and Stacey looked stunning in her dress. Stacey’s bridesmaid & sister Kimberley has a wedding planning business and she had organised everything. The wedding breakfast room looked really cool and the sweet counter was a huge success. Following the service the wedding breakfast we were able to escape with Stacey & Geart to take some pictures in nice and quiet garden. The evening session got underway with more guests arriving along with the cutting of the cake and the first dance.
We would like to thank Stacey & Geart for inviting us to record what was a truly special day.
If you are interesting in us photographing your wedding please give us a call or drop us a line and we would be very happy to discuss your needs

The beginning of May saw us back at The Legacy Thatchers Hotel near Horsley in Surrey for the gorgeous wedding of Kelly & John . We could not have asked for better weather with beautiful blue skies and not a cloud in sight. Before the service commenced guests mingled in the beautiful gardens. With the girls nearly ready everyone made there way to the wedding room for the ceremony. The bridesmaids looked fab in their pink dresses and Kelly looked simply beautiful in her dress. Following the service the wedding breakfast took place with some very witty speeches. Following the wedding breakfast the party really got going until the early hours.
We would like to thank Kelly & John for inviting us to record what was truely a special day.

I am a firm believer that even as a professional photographer you should never stop trying to learn. With that in mind for the second time in less than 6 months I booked myself onto a Brett Harkness Wedding Photography training course. On both of these courses Brett has taught me to think outside the box and look for something different. As an example I use Off Camera Flash as a routine rather than an exception. This has helped me develop my “Style”. My real aim is to try and produce work that has a different “Feel” to the normal run of the mill wedding photography. By using flash to turn day into night, using different backgrounds and shooting techniques my aim is to produce work that my clients will treasure.
Had a great time with Stacey & Geart today and looking forward to shooting their wedding at the end of May at the Regency Park Hotel in Thatcham, Berkshire.
I had been looking forward to this wedding for the fantastic location that the Bride & Groom had chosen for their reception. It was held at a fantastic hotel called The Elevetham in Hartney Witney.
The grounds at this venue are truly magnificent and the bride Nicola was really keen to get as many pictures in them as possible. Sadly as you all now know Friday was a terrible day with persistent rain all day.
This didn’t stop it being a wonderful day though and both Nicola & Matt were up for venturing out in the rain to try and capture some great images.
With the rain continuing to fall we explored the grand rooms of the hotel!
8:30pm and at last the rain stopped falling and we ventured out into the gardens, however the light was so bad that I thought we might as well try and be a bit creative with a number of Speedlights.
I think it worked but would be glad to hear what you say?
However the light was disappearing fast so just time for just one more;-
Had a fabulous day today photographing Katrina Cristy & Jamie Fraser’s wedding in Edinburgh. What started as a miserable wet day turned out to be a really sunny day which made exposure a nightmare. They are a lovely couple as were the whole of their family. The wedding reception was held at the “Signet Library” in the middle of Edinburgh , a truly great location.
Well the wedding season is well and truly here now.
I recently shot the wedding of a charming couple Nena & Ashley Trussler.
The wedding and reception was held at The Holiday Inn in Guildford. It was a challenging venue with low ceilings (full of down lighters) and limited place to shoot group shots. The couple suggested that we shoot post ceremony shots at Guildford Cathedral. This was a great idea as it gave some superb views however I felt sorry for them as it was very windy and a touch chilly.
It was the first time I had worked alongside a local videographer Clive Lawrence (www.clproductions.co.uk) a truely charming gentlemen.
The couple also had a very novel thing that I have never seen before a “Sweet buffet” which was full of fantastic types of sweets and was dressed in the same pink as the bridesmaids.
I think this is a great idea for both weddings and parties and I know that there was nothing left by the end of the evening. I would definitively reccomend this for your function. The company is called SugarySweet and their website is at www.Sugarysweet.co.uk
